Gabriele Di Luozzo, M.D.

Mount Sinai Medical Center

The mission of the website is to provide patients with the basic background information on thoracic aortic aneurysm, aortic dissections, and other aortic conditions and guide them to the best medical centers worldwide who have proven excellence in this surgical subspecialty.

The majority of the represented institutions have been interested in thoracic aortic aneurysms and the genetic composition of various connective tissue disorders for more than 20 years and have focused enormous energy into:

1. Natural history of thoraic aortic aneurysms, thoracoabdominal aortic aneurysms, and aortic dissections
2. Selection criteria for patients who will benefit from genetic counseling, genetic testing and prophylactic aortic repair
3. Techniques to make the surgical intervention safer

4. Spinal cord and brain preservation techniques
